2023 North Island vs Scotland
This year was the 50th Anniversary of the North Island v Scotland Match, which was celebrated with NZ flags, a cake and morning tea, on 24th September in Palmerston North.
There were a large amount of nominations this year which reflects the interest that shooters have in this special match.
Following the shooting we had a speech and cutting of the cake by our Manawatu Life Member Bruce Marchant, who has shot in the North Island team 8 times, in 1981, 82, 83, 84, 98, 99, 2000 and 2001. The original 1974 team included Malcolm Duthie from Waikato, who is still shooting with TSNZ, and the North Island won the inaugural match.
Scotland shot their 2023 match on 26th March in Aberdeen, and provided their results following our shoot, showing a very close match.
CONGRATULATIONS to the North Island for their wins in both Open and Junior teams.
Top Scorers were Ryan Taylor in the Open with 400, and Isaac Junc in the Juniors with 393.
